I'd Like You To Meet...

I’d Like You To Meet…AMY NYLAND!

Last year, I had the incredible opportunity of meeting Jamie Butler, founder of The Center for Love and Light in Atlanta. Keith Dykes, an old friend of Aquarius, made the introduction (for which I am forever grateful, Keith). Jamie is a beautiful, talented, gifted and brilliant spiritual woman with a great vision of bringing spiritual authenticity and empowerment to Atlanta and beyond.

One of the unsuspected and beautiful surprises in meeting Jamie was getting to meet the Director of the Center, Amy Nyland. For me, Amy was like a rush of glorious wind and light. I was both startled and deeply impacted by her love, her joy, her willingness to serve and help and work…and her vivacious approach to life. Over this past year, I have worked closely with Amy on a number of projects, and recently invited her to become a writer for Aquarius.

I knew Amy was a Light Worker…what I was not anticipating was the depth of her knowledge, wisdom and experience. She is an amazing teacher and practitioner…of life! She gets it in a way that few people do. Read her article, “Abundance Begins With You” on page 7, and you will get it, too!

So…I would like for you to meet Amy Nyland. Here is a brief interview I did with her to introduce her to our Aquarius community.

Where are you from?

I am originally from Moorhead, MN

I have heard you speak about military service? When and where did you serve? What branch?

I served in the U.S. Army from 1997-2002. I joined straight out of high school and I worked as a photojournalist/public information officer. My first duty station was Fort Benning in Columbus, GA. After Fort Benning I was stationed in Izmir, Turkey and worked for NATO. My final duty station was at Fort Stewart in Hinesville, GA near Savannah.

Tell us about your family.

My family is my heart and soul! My partner Cybil and I have been together nine years and we are raising my nephew Isaac who is 14-years-old. Additionally, I have an incredible group of friends who are family too! Everyone act as beautiful mirrors in my life teaching me, supporting me and growing with me in all ways possible. I am truly blessed!

Could you identify the single most transformative event or experience in your life?

My single most transformative experience came when a friend of mine bought me a booked called “The Power of Intention” by Dr. Wayne Dyer in 2004. After reading this book I experienced a glimpse of satori (instant awakening) and embarked on my spiritual journey which has brought me to where I am today. And what an incredible and beautiful journey it has been!

What happened this past year that you will always remember?

This year has been brimming with awesome and awe-inspiring experiences, but I will never forget my time volunteering for a week with Girls Rock Camp Atlanta this summer. I was overwhelmed by the support, love and empowerment that transpired over that week, and finally found something I am truly passionate about outside of work and family. If you haven’t heard of Girls Rock Camp Atlanta go check it out, they do amazing work!
