Spiritual Awakenings

It's 6am and today the paper leaves for another month. I'm thinking how funny it is that each month this is the last thing that I personally do to complete another issue. Once Dorothy, our Designer and Web-Queen, says everything's in, that's my sign that means it's time to write my column. I'm never sure what I'll write about until I sit down at the computer and ask, “What should I talk about this month?” My daughter Jodi says, “If you talk to Mom just before she writes her editorial you might end up in it.” That's true, sometimes. I like to keep you informed on what's going on, what's new at Aquarius, and sometimes a particular subject or topic seems to come through and at that point, what I write has a mind of its own. Some people call it automatic writing, or channeled writing, I just call it writing with a little guidance.

I always pray the night before, “Dear God, Goddess, All There Is, tomorrow I will write my editorial. Please guide me with a good idea and don't let me sound stupid.” Most of the time it works. All joking aside, I'm always amazed how just trusting the universe works and for eleven years now, every month I get another reality check and confirmation that proves we are not alone. I wonder when or if it will ever be possible to have tangible proof of what is only a feeling right now. Thank God I am sitting in my own house having this experience because I think the nut houses in America and throughout the world are loaded with people having 'spiritual experiences' that are weird and beyond comprehension.

Some of you have tapped into another reality while meditating, or maybe you've experienced an OBE (Out of Body Experience). That's pretty weird, but once you have had any spiritual experience that was different or strange, I'll bet it was also unshakable. You don't just shake yourself off and it leaves you like a flea on a cat! No, no, it can be a life changing event and from then forward you're never quite the same. Now you live in a space that explores the universe and its laws. You never have an ordinary day because now you know you're a Spiritual Being having a human experience, while before you thought you were simply a human being.

If you're reading this and you haven't had a life changing event happen yet, remember your interest in the contents of this paper alone is the start of your inner self, your spiritual self preparing you for an awakening. Pay attention to your dreams, keep a journal, read a book on a subject that seems to be pulling you in a particular direction. Getting involved in your spiritual progress is the key to finding that place on the inner that offers serenity. Once this trusting place is present, your life is richer in every way.
