Akasha article continued from last page, click here! Number
three - Indigo
kids have a challenge
around being patient.
They don't
like waiting in
lines and will
get bored very
easily. Better
to give them something
to do with their
hands and minds,
then call them
when it's
time to begin
the activity.
Indigo children
are here to make
changes in the
system. Those
systems are the
educational system,
parenting process
and awareness,
the government,
business, spirituality
and religion,
ecology and any
and all other
areas that need
revision. They are also here to learn about all the aspects of the emotion of love, from how to recognize it and feel it/share it, to how to express it on many levels. When love is withdrawn or only conditionally available the indigo child retreats within and can, in some cases, turn to the dark side to act out their need to be acknowledged. This can be avoided by letting your children know how loved and cherished they are from the time they are born. For older indigos they need to know, even though you may not agree with them or their choices, you still love them and are there to listen and guide. The best way a teacher can support indigo children is to teach them how to think and empower them by helping them make appropriate choices and understand the consequences of their actions. Encourage
them to think
out of the box.
Listen to their
stories; ask them
questions about
what they remember
before they came
here to this planet.
Make it a game
of make believe
that frees their
minds from judgment.
Feed
and encourage
their curiosity.
Smile at them
and send them
love energetically.
They can feel
many energetic
vibrations - including
negative ones.
So never lie to
an indigo child
by trying to hide
your real emotions
- they will pick
up the discrepancy
between what you
say and what you
are feeling and
will feel betrayed
by you. Discipline
and direction
are very different
for these little
ones. When it's
naptime don't
ask them if they
want to take a
nap - give them
a choice. For
example say, It's
naptime - would
you like to sleep
on the blue mat
or the green mat?
As early as toddler
you can introduce
the concept of
making appropriate
choices for behavior.
For example, when
they have made
an inappropriate
choice, ask them
how they feel.
Chances are they
won't like
the way they feel.
Show them how
making appropriate
choices will help
them feel good
about themselves
and others. Clearly
the above information
would benefit
all children -
not just indigos
- but it is especially
important to the
indigo children.
