Autumn
Equinox
Two
formations of geese
fly
northward
then
momentarily circle
fashion
letters like
skycast
calligraphy
or
some celestial Quija
their
message oracular
and
temporary as ether
It
furthers one to take the
boundless
journey
To
cross the great water

Launch
Tomorrow's
meditation practice--
Is,
after days, an established
Psychic's
foreknowledge;
Ghosts
are just conscious spheres
Teleporting
through the years;
Voices
are ever present guides:
Human
and remnant glides,
They
speak through the wind -
For
whoever will listen to a friend.

The
Circle
In
search of gold, silver and glistening jewels, the weary spirit travels
this circle.
Feet
fastened to the ground, yet pushed to comply, to follow, to never venture
past the boundaries.
Beautiful
visions of blonde hair and radiant blue eyes, smile and encourage the
weary spirit to move forward, to obey, to subdue individual desires.
Cardboard
soldiers, dolls with glass eyes and frozen smiles. Perfect faces, smooth
skin, traveling endlessly in pursuit of their treasure.
Glass
eyes, staring straight ahead, never seeing or feeling the pain of those
who travel with them. Still pursuing the golden purse, the trinkets
of their companions.
All
alone, one traveler struggles to break free, to run wildly through the
soft, gentle fields that lie beyond the border.
One
traveler gazes upward to the soft light of the glistening moon and the
warmth of the summer sun and wishes to slip free of the chains that
bind the spirit.
One
traveler, this enlightened soul, struggles to find peace among those
blinded by the piercing light of the golden hills.
One
spirit alone, only until the time when hands are joined with another,
and together they fall into the nurturing light of the Mother Goddess.
Bound
no longer by the treasures of others, but free to breathe and live in
the light and love of the divine aspect. Free to live and travel beyond!

Attention
Poets!
The
International Platform Association has awarded its 2001 Carl Sandburg
Award, given in memory of its longtime member and literary giant, to
Poetry.com, the world's largest community of poets, for its unique
contribution in recognizing and promoting the poetry of the people.
Previous winners of the award have included Maya Angelou, Rod McKuen,
and former U.S. Poet Laureate Rita Dove.
This
is the first time the Sandburg Award has been given to a group rather
than an individual, stated David Pearl, Director General of the
170 year old association, but this year we felt that no person
or organization has done more to increase the public interest in poetry
than Poetry.com's definitive
website.
In
celebration of their award, Poetry.com has announced it expects to feature
an additional two million poems on its website this year as the result
of a record $58,000.00 in prize money to be awarded in their 2001 Open
Amateur Poetry Competition. All poets, regardless of experience, are
invited to enter the contest by submitting a poem directly online at
www.poetry.com, or by sending ONE
original poem, any subject, any style, to Poetry.com, 1 Poetry Plaza,
Owings Mills, MD 21117. Poems must be postmarked or entered online by
December 31, 2001.
