QIGONG CHANGES LIVES

Some time ago, I read an article in this very publication about an upcoming Qigong seminar that had the potential to change my life on many different levels. I had heard of Qigong before, and knew it had something to do with energy or “Qi,” but that was about all I knew. How was working with my own energy going to change my life, and, did I really need to change it? I didn’t have any answers, but I was intrigued by the possibilities and excited to learn about Qigong. I attended the seminar, conducted by a Supreme Science Qigong Center instructor…and to my utter surprise and amazement, it completely changed my life!
I’d like to share my story with you, but first, let me introduce you to Melanie, who has discovered her own new passion for living since beginning to practice Qigong healing.
“For the past two years I’ve been struggling with depression, anxiety…I was not in a healthy place at all. I was taking different prescribed medications to deal with those things,” Melanie says. “Before Qigong, I couldn’t get myself out of bed, I couldn’t imagine doing any exercise; I couldn’t even imagine making lunch.”
Melanie was looking for a way to get her life back. I started working with her, helping her to learn Qigong—the movements, the breathing techniques, food-based healing—all of the lessons I had learned in the seminar. Melanie felt a shift immediately.
“Having Qigong as part of my daily routine, I have so much more energy! I’ve been able to get up earlier in the morning; I’ve had a more positive outlook. My family has noticed I’m happier, and I look different,” Melanie says joyfully.
Qigong not only impacted Melanie physically, but emotionally as well. “It’s definitely subdued the depression,” she says. “I’m not having panic attacks. I can control my breathing. If I notice that I might be getting a little uptight about something, I immediately focus on deep Qigong breathing. I have more control of my life, and I’m happy to say that I am off of all the prescribed medications. It’s changed my life and I feel like I’m getting ‘me’ back. It’s wonderful!”
Melanie’s story is just one of many. An estimated 200 million people practice Qigong worldwide, and those numbers are constantly growing as more people seek alternative and holistic solutions for their health. What is Qigong?
"Qi" means life force energy; "Gong" means work. It is the gathering and circulating of internal energy with graceful movements and using breathing techniques to absorb Qi into the body.

2) Stimulates appetite, sexual function, assimilation of nutrients, and digestion/elimination.

7) Enhances mental acuity, focus, & concentration. Qi draws the focus and trains the mind.
8) Helps us to calm down, relax, and become more peaceful.
9) Harnesses the power of True Source; remarkably improves results of hands-on healing, such as Reiki; and helps spiritual growth.

So how was my life changed by attending the Qigong seminar? Before, I considered myself very healthy, active, and energetic. I work out regularly, eat a vegetarian diet, and usually get plenty of rest. I didn’t necessarily feel like I was missing anything. But when I started practicing Qigong daily and eating whole foods, I realized how much I had been missing. I felt a higher level of energy; my mood was consistently happier; I lost weight; my skin became smoother; cuts and bruises healed more quickly. Spending 200 days on the road as a speaker and trainer, I am constantly exposed to opportunities to get sick; since beginning the practice of Qigong, I don’t get sick anymore. I’ve become such a believer in Qigong that I’m now a certified instructor with the Supreme Science Qigong Center and conduct my own seminars.
More and more, people are questioning the traditional methods of cutting, medicating, and waiting until a disease occurs before turning attention to their body and their health. Qigong is a holistic, noninvasive approach to taking charge of our own wellbeing, opening the doors to undreamed of possibilities for health.
