An Alternative Secret

An opposing viewpoint is one of the things that make the world go round. So here’s another one for you.

The media is going crazy with ideas put forth in the movie The Secret. Some are saying it’s an incredible truth and others are calling it a bunch of bunk. What if it’s both?

In the movie they state that “the secret” is the Law of Attraction, a law that states like attracts like. What you think, so you shall be. Their premise is if you can monitor your thoughts and make them vibrationally align with desires you have put powerful emotions behind, you will eventually manifest those desires into your life.

And in a sense, they are certainly correct. Desires or expectations with a powerful feeling of knowing without a doubt the universe in all its bounty will provide for you is nothing more than faith. The definition of faith according to the American Heritage dictionary is “confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing”, or a “belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence.” And Miriam-Webster says faith is “complete trust”.

In a very real sense, if you are thinking, acting and emotionally vibrating with something in which you have an absolute trust (or faith) that it will manifest in your life, then you are in vibrational alignment with Source energy and Source energy is what you are! Everything is Source. There is nothing – no thought, no action, no emotion, no thing – that is not Source energy. You are not the doer! Source is the doer. There are no individual pieces of Source; it only appears that there are.

The Law of Attraction works as it does because Source has set up an expectation in your script to manifest, let’s say, a new car. In “your” mind (which is really Source’s mind) you are absolutely sure the new car is yours. You can see yourself driving it, you have the emotional experience set in your body of how you will feel if it were yours, and you pay attention and act on the cues the universe sets up for you in order for the car to manifest. And of course “you” would do this as you are Source energy and this is what Source had in mind for you all along.

So perhaps another explanation of the Law of Attraction is that “you” are seeing or acting on a future that Source energy has put in your script which says you get a new car! You are doing nothing. You are simply playing out your script as Source energy.

Let me explain. Our reality says there is this “you and me” in physical form. We as physical beings are subject to the elements of time and space. The fact that we can have unwavering faith, trust or conviction that something is going to happen to us is nothing more than seeing into what our “future” script holds for us, what Source AS us has decided we will experience.

An important and often overlooked point to remember is that there is no time and space in the realm of Source. Time and space are purely a convention of the physical realm. In the realm of the Source, everything, every little thing, happens in the glorious moment of Now. Perhaps an alternative as to why The Law of Attraction seems to work as it does is because people in the physical realm are simply and clearly seeing their own script in the moment of Now. For the briefest of moments we by-pass time and space, as well as our physical being and make a direct connection with Source energy, our true and only identity, and we just play out our script as it is given to us by Source.
