NURTURING ARCHITECTURE

“You know what it's like living in Vedic City in a Sthapatya Veda home? Remember when you were a child? How good it felt to know that mother was at home? That's the feeling you have living in these structures, that “mother is at home” and I say that because it's nurturing,” reveals Barbara Robson, a five year resident.

Robson continues, “We moved out here specifically to live in a Sthapatya Veda home. We were tired of the stress and congestion in cities and the Maharishi said that eighty or ninety percent of all problems in life are due to improper bastu, the orientation of one's living quarters. Not just the house, but the yard and the property itself. We have friends who come to visit us and they don't want to go home, it feels so good!”

STHAPATYA VEDA ARCHITECTURE

The Hindu Veda or Body of Knowledge says health, happiness and fortune are influenced by the orientation of buildings and their relationship to the sun, moon, planets and stars. The placement of rooms, proportions, slope and shape of the land all play a critical role in a family or a business's prosperity, health and happiness. Natural, non-toxic building materials are used as much as possible.

Non-Veda buildings, especially those with south-facing entrances, can create tension, anxiety, depression, illness, bad luck, and criminal tendencies. Sthapatya Veda is comparable to Feng Shui, an ancient Chinese concept of placement and energy.
