And when is this Peace Palace to be built? Stevens says as soon as possible. The specific plan has come up within the last six months. He says the Maharishi wants approximately three thousand Peace Palaces around the world and at least 300 in the United States. “But we want it done quickly. With Iraq, Orange Alert, violent crime and recession, Atlanta, like all of America's major cities, is in the grip of an epidemic of traumatic stress. Community leaders here have announced their plan to build a Peace Palace dedicated entirely to bringing relief to the stressed population of the city and promoting peace for a turbulent world.”

The primary purpose of this Peace Palace is not to talk about peace but rather to create a powerful influence of peace and harmony for Atlanta and Georgia.

Dr. Rector says that the Peace Palace will be the center for a permanent group of 100 to 200 professionally trained peace creating experts who will practice TM and its advanced programs including Yogic Flying. “The peaceful influence of this group will transform the city, reducing crime, violence and conflict overnight.”

John Hagelin, Natural Law candidate in 2000, has teamed up with the Maharishi in the search for global peace. He supports the Peace Palaces and is advocating a second government. He is inviting America's foremost scientists and experts on the theory and application of total Natural Law, the Unified Field, to spearhead a second government, a complementary government, offering prevention-oriented, problem-free administration for the nation.

“This government,” says Hagelin, “will not usurp the responsibilities of the current government (which is concerned with crisis management) but it will include programs of consciousness-based education to develop the total brain, Vedic medicine to prevent disease and promote health and coherence, creating groups to prevent crime, terrorism and armed conflict.”
