The Role of Mother Kali in the World Today

I have been asked why it is that I embrace the Dark Mother Kali. My answer is quite simple. It was she who grabbed hold of me and caught me in her net of love and in her embrace I live.

Mother Kali devours the darkness and the pain that we absorb as we walk upon this earth taking care of the sick, the dying, the hungry, the poor and those that others call 'throw away' people. Mother Kali's role in the world is to enable us to see that each soul upon earth is made in the greatest image of God the Mother and God the Father. Mother reveals to us that every breath taken is a breath that is combined in the universal atman at the moment of death and once again at the moment of rebirth.

What we do not need in our lives is pride, the great pride that comes from the womb of ego and says, “My way is the only way.” This takes us from God and takes us from love and kindness. It is here one can ask Mother to take this pride and that which we do not need.

I am grateful to be in the warm embrace of Mother Kali, for it is She that allows me and mine to create a soft blanket of love on which the suffering can lay their heads.

It is so important that we allow each other to speak their hearts and minds with the greatness of listening. We all think that every single one of us has so much to say. Mother Kali has given me the gift of hesitation, hesitating long enough to listen to another being's heart.

My prayer is that we can look at another human being's heart and life and do whatever we can, not just have them survive but to live, to live brightly in the sun of human dignity.
