Thanks everybody for another great year!

You know every June, we celebrate our Anniversary, this is our 11th Year. Yeah! But Father's Day always gets lost and barely mentioned. But this year I have to give their due to all the wonderful men on the planet.

A favorite saying that I remember from my bartending days was expressed by men, about women, “You can't live with them and ya can't live without 'em”. Men were in a dilemma and worse than that they were totally unequipped to deal with the movement of liberated women. But, they survived and now they share their private clubs and even the PGA.

Men have really come into their own, and I think it's funny that learning how to say, “Yes, dear” can distinguish, for me, how smart they are. Knowing that “if Mama isn't happy, nobody's happy,” is the Truth, and if you men learn that, you graduate with flying colors. Hey, these aren't my thoughts or rules, they are known facts of life that work.

Can life really be that simple? NO, but women are such intuitive creatures that, given the chance, they will always put the needs of their man and family first. A smart man is led (just a little) by the woman. Showing strength is a good thing, but it must be balanced. A friend gave me an email shared between her and her lover that described some of her desires. I thought they described the balance that, if practiced, would define a good man and would ultimately mirror a good father. Women want a man to have it all, just like men want it all.

• The strength of a man isn't in the width of his shoulders, but how wide he opens his arms to hold and protect you.

• The strength of a man isn't in the deep tone of his voice, but how gently he whispers.

• The strength of a man isn't in the words he speaks, but how he keeps his word.

• The strength of a man isn't how he is respected at work, but how he is respected at home.

• The strength of a man isn't how hard he hits, but how gentle he touches.

• The strength of a man isn't how many women he's loved, but can he be true to one woman.

• The strength of a man isn't the act of making love, but understanding that making love is not an act.

I've got some terrific men in my life, not as a partner (yet) but family and friends that I have tremendous respect for.
