Travels to India, Japan, Burma, Thailand and Europe held many lessons for Gawain about possessions and prosperity. She learned that there is no sense in collecting things, and that the Universe will always provide what we truly need. Her work has been strongly influenced by that of Hal and Sidra Stone, her teachers and mentors, and she employs their Psychology of Self and Voice Dialog techniques in her own work.

One of the most profound of Shakti's teachings is that, if we can accept that the Universe provides us with opportunities to learn exactly what we need, we can see that even painful experiences contain important keys to our wholeness, healing and balance. She also teaches us to see relationships as mirrors of our own state of being, revealing areas in which we may need to grow. Gawain teaches us how to access our inner guidance, giving us a constant source of wisdom, clarity and direction that is always available to us at a moment's notice. Her work resounds with the conviction that, as we heal ourselves, we heal the Earth, contributing to its evolutionary process.

Gawain's latest book release, Reflections in the Light, is a book of daily thoughts and affirmations. If you are familiar with her work, you'll note that much of this material is taken from her previous books, Creative Visualization and Living In the Light, though there is some new material. Reflections in the Light serves well as a refresher course on her concepts and techniques for those who have studied her work, but it is also easily accessible for those new to her books. The book is conveniently laid out as a daily guide, divided into seasons. All of Gawain's books teach how to use the creative powers of the mind and incorporate her techniques into daily life.

Shakti Gawain's afternoon workshop at Atlanta Unity Church is titled “Tools for Transforming Your Life.” This experiential workshop involves participants in deep consciousness work –  meditation, teaching, and interactive exercises. Gawain will offer tools for transformation, guiding participants in discovering how they can:

• develop and strengthen intuitive guidance

• integrate the many energies within, including the shadow side

• heal and balance body, mind, spirit, and emotion

• expand the experience of true prosperity

• make a unique contribution to the world
