Angels
In Astrology
by
Sandra Randel
If
all of creation is from the mind of God, then angels are the part that
never left home. I've come to understand angels as thoughts of God
and the planetary influences as the multidimensional creative force
of those thoughts. From the time I left the corporate world and began
practicing astrology, I've been surrounded and assisted by angels.
Until then I knew very little about angels. What I knew came from Biblical
stories or catechism lessons as a child. Raised Catholic, I was taught
that Mother Mary had the title, Queen of Angels. Don't forget the
Three Wise Men or Magi were astrologers.
For me the angel interaction began with unusual light phenomena in my
home, synchronicities that brought to me channeled messages from angels
and then voices from my heart describing themselves to me as what
I would think of as angels. Needless to say, this led me to seek
more information. I discovered angels have been written about for thousands
of years in almost every civilized culture. To my surprise, several
ancient mystical texts even credited angels with holding in place the
astrological influences symbolized by the planets. Slowly my rational
mind found acceptance for the concept of angels in astrology. Perhaps
I had somehow aligned with this higher intelligence. The more I opened
to the idea, the more love and joy they offered in turn and gradually
I came to embrace their presence.
The
Kabbalah, the Talmud, Islamic literature and even the Catholic Church,
prior to the Inquisition taught that specific angels are assigned to
our solar system. According to A Dictionary of Angels,
each planetary force is maintained by a team of nine angels. These nine
are categorized into three types, The Spirits, The Messengers and The
Intelligences. We are also told, the Chief over all the planetary angels
is Rahatiel. When you look at the names of the angels below, don't
be disappointed if you aren't familiar with most of them. Antiquity
tells us there are millions of angels governing the 196 provinces of
heaven. Who could know them all? We can know the angel of our birth
sign or planetary ruler. References to astrology in the ancient texts
imply the Planetary Intelligences as Pope Leo III called
them, work like currents of energy through the soul prompting certain
kinds of responses in people. Essentially this is the same way astrology
understands the influences today. It's unfortunate we no longer
give credit to the angels because I believe astrology is the cyber space
of angels and the planetary forces are like E-Mail to the soul. This
isn't a bad analogy when you consider the similarities. Where is
cyberspace? Where is an influence?
From as early as age fourteen, I was drawn to the study of astrology,
but I didn't believe a planet so far away could have an effect on
my life. Gradually I reached the understanding that planetary forces
are an inside job, the creative force of a Creative Source rather than
a three dimensional, external, magnetism. Astrology isn't magic
or superstition. It's the only mechanism we have to describe the
unconscious, involuntary, intangible multidimensional forces at work
within the intuitive mind. More succinctly, astrology attempts to describe
our resonance, that which is us, our essence and elemental nature. The
astrological forces are speaking to our soul. What we call
the planetary forces and what we call the soul or subtle body are of
the same substance, they're made of the same stuff.
When astrologers talk about influences they're actually referring
to a frequency or resonance. The effects of it are witnessed in the
wake of our lives' activities, looking at manifestations and responses.
An individual's awareness of a resonance is after the fact. Receiving
it is intuitive. It's a function of what I call our Resonance-Response
System. Your Resonance-Response System is on all the time, even while
you sleep. Resonance-Response Systems aren't just for processing
planetary forces. All life has frequency. We intuit the frequencies
all around us whether plant, animal, human or planetary. The planetary
forces or frequencies have as their function in creation the job of
gently guiding or informing us in some way. Your soul's response
to a planetary resonance and the resulting effects in your life are
determined by your karma. Karma is the software of the soul. It's
based on the past, on your memories. In other words, your karma consists
of the cumulative experiences of all your lifetimes and all experiences
in between lifetimes.
Trust in the oneness of all living things affords you access to deeper
stratas of living energy. Planetary Resonance or Influences are a part
of the creation and like the rest of creation they have purpose and
are designed to complement all life. They are living, functioning, intelligent
links between the Creative Source and all creation. Physical bodies
do things in three-dimensional space, however souls function multi-dimensionally.
We are designed to communicate with each other in or apart from matter.
When two souls meet, their Resonance-Response Systems conduct intuitive
exchanges and these exchanges form the real basis for their relationship.
This is because the agendas of the two souls will always take precedence
over the agendas of the two egos. When you look to astrology for insight,
remember its primary function is the business of the soul. This is frequently
overlooked in favor of its predictive qualities.
When
a soul is born, the arrangement of the planets form a template. Insights
into that soul's past, karma and purpose for incarnation can be
derived. The template of the soul, the astrology chart and map, by no
means provides a comprehensive description of the individual's future
or full potential. No human could ever fully comprehend, let alone express
that. The soul, that illusive, intangible, misunderstood, all-important
component of our lives, has a source of wisdom all its own. To find
that source we must look beyond three dimensions. Astrology helps us
expand the mind from three dimensional into multidimensional thinking
through the understanding that life itself has energy and specific force
with which to incite specific stimuli. When an individual links with
that specific force and renders it powerful, many levels of power and
possibility reveal themselves. At each level a door into the next is
found. The door is at the appropriate place and time for the continuation
of growth and expansion of life through the mind's gifts.
