An Astrological “Heads-Up” for July

There is a lot of cosmic activity this month designed to keep us on our toes. First, we're operating under the influence of the Cancer new moon, which occurred on June 29. So issues associated with home, family and patriotism are high priorities.

Venus enters the sign of the crab on our country's birthday, imbuing us with an appreciation of our roots and heritage. There is a keen awareness of our symbiotic connections.

The moon reaches fullness on the 13th, in the business-like sign of Capricorn. Expect others to be less empathetic and more bottom-line oriented, so don't opt for popularity contests or the touchy-feely approach to life. By the 13th, Mercury enters the fire sign of the proud lion. Those who have strong opinions will be anything but shy when standing their ground. Even a good logical argument to persuade otherwise has poor odds of winning. But Leo's impact on Mercury enhances our creative thoughts.

By the 23rd, the sun joins the Leo parade, turning our attention to the more showy sides of life. Of all the signs of the zodiac, this is the one voted most likely to insist that life is a cabaret! So it's time to make merry, adorn ourselves with colorful garb and celebrate what it means to be alive and even childlike.
