Marianne was born in Houston, Texas where, as she explains her youth, life was a war of wills with her mother. (Saturn/Sun). She left home and moved to New Mexico as a young adult, residing near the Pluto line on her map. This paricular Pluto line symbolizing death and rebirth takes place in 4th house issues of life, her relationship with her parents and the emergence of a spiritual foundation and identity. Marianne confirms that New Mexico was the place she “dropped out” and began to see life in a totally different way. After
a period of time, she moved to the San
Francisco area near a Mercury line. Mercury
is the planet that symbolizes the writer,
the mind, language, learning and communications.
It means the time she spent there would
emphasize reading, writing, learning and
sharing ideas. This particular line of
Mercury is associated with a change of
personal image. It was during her early
years in California that she began reading
and studying metaphysical subjects. She
picked up a book entitled A Course
in Miracles. This non-religious,
non-traditional text employs the principals
of Christianity, love and forgiveness.
It's a book that was channeled, so
in some circles it is considered unconventional,
controversial and New Age. It was this
book that inspired her to write her first
best seller, A Return To Love.
And it was the writing of A Return
to Love that changed her image
in the world. She began to tour and speak
about the principles of A Course
in Miracles as a holistic method
of psychological and spiritual healing.
Since
that time she has appeared on Oprah, written
other books, and is now the Spiritual
Leader of The Church of Today in Detroit.
In Michigan, where she now lives, we see
there are Uranus, Sun and Venus lines.
The first two are planets related to her
karma/dharma aspect and emphasize her
1st house of self-expression and soul
expression. Her weekly lectures at the
Church of Today are taped and people from
all over the country and elsewhere subscribe
to receive copies of these lectures. The
Venus line is the symbol that her persona
carries in it a projection of lov e and
a heartfelt appreciation of those who
listen or attend.
She
has reached the stage I referred to early
in this writing, the dharma. Once an individual
has truly learned to forgive, and this
is certainly necessary for each of us
since karma shows up in all charts, we
are free to do the soul's work, our spiritual
mission. In Marianne's case it's
literally working for The Father (Saturn/Sun),
utilizing a non-traditional (Uranus) format
for holistic healing (Chiron) that allows
her power of speech (3rd house Pluto)
to transform the hearts of those who listen.
