Why
New Year's Resolutions Don't Work Dr. Yuen is a world-renowned grandmaster credited with popularizing the martial arts in the Western World, and with bringing authentic Kung Fu to television. His energetic healing technique is the most advanced on the planet. He teaches methods to correct emotional issues, failure to achieve goals, and relationship issues, and a full day of his seminar is given to how to be congruent with your goals and eliminate belief systems which sabotage your progress. If you are familiar with the television show, Kung Fu, with David Carridine, then you have heard Dr. Yuen's teachings in dramatic form. Dr. Yuen was David Carridine's advisor on the show, and Carridine emulated and exemplified the qualities he saw in his teacher. The following is based on his teachings. Here we go again, starting the year with the very best of intentions. So what does your try-it-again list of resolutions include? A year filled with daily exercise, weight loss, a streamlined budget, paid off credit cards, more time with friends and family, and more success on the job? You bet. You mean it this time. So why five minutes into the New Year are we munching on chips or lighting up a cigarette? It seems that we blow off our resolutions as readily as we make them. What tips do the experts give us for handling the New Year differently? Here are a few I found while surfing the net: Be realistic, write your resolutions down, set deadlines, change only one to two things at a time, be specific, think positively, be committed, plan and pace yourself, learn from past mistakes, and best of all, sign up for daily e-mail messages that support and encourage you. If it were a horse race, I wouldn't put my money on any of these. The truth is that resolutions are based on willpower, and using sheer effort is like swimming against the tide. It may sound enticing to try, but have you ever jumped in for a swim? So what tide are we swimming against when we make our resolutions and how can we reposition ourselves to be going in the other direction? 1. Eliminate Self-Sabotage. Think you have bad luck? Perhaps it's bad timing or fate that has thwarted your goals. Unlikely. Rather, it's the universe mirroring the negative programming in your subconscious mind. Meet the four destroyers: 'unready,' 'unwilling,' 'unable,' and 'undeserving.' These are the culprits that undermine your health and success, and you're probably not even aware of them. Step one is to locate the precise offenders and energetically release them, clearing the way for the healing process. 2. Find out precisely what traumatizing experiences originated the chain of thoughts and emotions responsible for your current failure or illness. Be specific. Go back in time -way back -perhaps to an ancestral experience subconsciously passed down from one generation to the next, or to a fetal upset absorbed from your mother's concerns or fears, or to a past life event seemingly irrelevant to your current life circumstances. Locate and defuse these torpedoes. This is the key to resolving your present and future life crises. The intense thoughts and emotions surrounding these events may be overwhelming and must be released on all levels of consciousness: physical, mental, emotional, psychic, and spiritual and on all planes of consciousness, from the God level, down to the cellular level, ultimately down to quantum reality itself. Step two, the healing process itself, is to energetically locate the past traumas, release them on all levels, and on all planes. 3. Learn the powerful meditation which strengthens the connection between the ego and the higher realms of consciousness where true knowing and creativity reside. Such energy affects every cell, molecule, and atom of our existence, and enhances our innate power to heal. Step three is to practice the meditation daily. So make only one New Year's resolution this year. Stop struggling and failing. Give up effort and resistance. Learn the energetic technique that brings effortless ease into everyday life and makes you a master at turning on and turning off the switches that control your life. Marnie
