Love
and Money! The root of all Joy if you think it is.
Today
is a great day, don't ya think?
Well it is, every day is a great day. Life is good. Count your
blessings. I'm sorry if you don't feel this way; what
can we say or do to change your mind? If I say, change your mind
for it will change your life, could you do
that? Sometimes, I agree it's easier said than done. If you
don't have something you want or if you covet someone else's
stuff (a form of jealousy), or you live in the 'Victim'
space in which you always blame others for your life, it's
not that easy to change. That must be a really bad place
to live and the answer to changing is not as simple as just saying,
'Change your Mind.'
Sometimes, a holiday like Valentine's Day can make us sad.
Maybe we don't have a special mate, someone making plans for
a special night of romance to show how much they love and appreciate
us being in their lives. So many people have been disappointed
in love that they aren't even praying for the perfect soul-mate
and have shut down to the possibilities of that happening again.
What a shame! We can't always be completely open to having
our hearts unprotected. The pain associated with a broken heart
is awful, but the alternative is never being willing for that
Valentine's Day celebration to come. Another dream unfulfilled.
I'm the ultimate optimist that wants the Angel on our cover
to come into my life, dream it and be open to all good, that's
my motto! Ya never know.
For me, the answer to all life's ups and downs is simple.
You first must be willing to clean your own house. This means
doing your inner-child work. I'm a huge advocate of this practice
because getting to the core issues of wrong thinking opens your
heart and re-arranges your priorities. Being content with life
in general starts happening and those feelings of jealousy
and being a victim go away. You start taking responsibility for
your own life. All your decisions and the outcomes belong to you.
No one to blame but you!
All of a sudden you're forced to trust yourself and your right
brain (your intuitive side) starts to get sharpened. Your right
brain is also your creativity. So now, you're more intuitive
and creative and that alone gives you the tools to make things
happen in your life. From that space all things are possible.
All of a sudden you can change your mind and it does change your
life.
As long as we have clutter anywhere around us, whether it's
internal or external, we can expect our world to be in the same
dilemma. February Is a perfect time to do some internal cleaning
and Spring-time is perfect for cleaning your closets, auto, garage,
etc. I call it living in the universal flow of life.
What I've just written seems to address Valentine's Day
and being with or without a partner, but February 14 is only one
day a year. Relationships happen everyday with children, teachers,
co-workers. Every relationship we have with everybody is important!
Cleaning out some people can also be important. We should honor
all our friendships, but you can love someone from a distance.
I have some friendships that lasted twenty years, but not twenty-five
years. Sometimes it's time to let go of your once favorite
person, just like you'd give up your once favorite possession.
Love
and Money
Another
thing: happiness is an inside job. Going within is the inner-child
work that I'm talking about. Changing your mind is having
a different perspective. Some of us put off living because we
think more money will be the answer to being happy. That's
bull, we can be happy today just by having clear, right thinking.
One of my best friends, Gwen, sent me this email awhile ago that
I want to share with you. I hope it will help you think of the
blessings we have now, with or without the Angel on the cover.
Subject:
How poor are you?
One
day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to
the country with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor
people live. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm
of what would be considered a very poor family.
On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, How
was the trip?
It was great, Dad.
Did you see how poor people live? the father asked.
Oh yeah, said the son.
So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip? asked
the father.
The son answered: I saw that we have one dog and they had
four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden
and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns
in our garden and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches
to the front yard and they have the whole horizon. We have a small
piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our
sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We
buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property
to protect us, they have friends to protect them.
The boy's father was speechless.
Then his son added, Thanks, Dad, for showing me how poor
we are.
Isn't
perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you wonder what would happen
if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying
about what we don't have. Appreciate every single thing you
have, especially your friends!
