Love in its Simplest Form

How about our cover this month! That's love. The innocence of the children – before we ruin them – is the purest love there is. We can't stay that unaffected forevermore, because life happens. But we all have the choice to grow up and keep the gentleness in our spirit. The roads we travel in our lives bring many emotional triggers that, on a daily basis, can make you stop at the crossroads and decide for yourself how you want to live. Relationships, like everything, are in perpetual motion, an energy that constantly moves towards building up or breaking down and is never still.  

The same amount of energy is used to be kind and gentle with each other as being cruel and crude. Every day from morning till night try to show your fellow-beings your soft spot. If you don't, eventually you could risk the time when we only relate to each other with intolerance instead of tolerance. Really, even going to that level of tolerance or intolerance is low. Bring up the level and treat everyone around you with a caring and loving attitude, and be there for another human, even if it's just a smile or offering a piece of candy to a co-worker.

You know, we live in uncertain times right now that ask/demand more from us. We are all feeling a mass consciousness level of fear. We don't know what foundations to trust or what idols have clay feet. We are forced to rely on our own sense of good. We must work from our own sense of principle and justice. We can move forward if we remember that love for one another and little acts of kindness don't cost anything, the only thing I know in life that is free.

Please do not confuse respect with kindness. Respect is something we must earn but kindness is the gift that can keep on giving over and over.

I think the universe is trying to get us to pay attention and get it. Get that we are all truly equal: one energy, one soul, and one mind. I've mentioned this several times lately to friends, but when I was bartending in my last career, I remember comparing over a thirty-year period (what a study) of how much people were the same. They would order the same foods, drink the same drinks, even talk about the same things. Even have the same problems and concerns. It made me an expert in relationships, and people observation. I didn't use the terminology I use today, back then I knew people, and today I would say I was tracking energy. Back then I would say everybody ate a cheeseburger tonight, today I would marvel at how many ways we connect on so many levels. There was also a psychic thing going on that I didn't recognize then, like “just knowing” what people would order before they even knew.
