I realize that these are still “glints” of possibility in humanity, and they are important glints that may well grow stronger as our species evolves.

Yet there is a greater reason than any of these to argue for the continuance of humanity. The reason lies in just what we are in relation to the Earth – to Gaia. For we are all part of Gaia, everything on and of the Earth is collectively Gaia. So, what may that mean? Human DNA is quite interesting, for we apparently are the culmination of the DNA of everything else on planet Earth. In a sense, humans are “little earths”, each one of us. Being “little earths” we are where Gaia has been and where She is going. We are “Her” evolution as well as our own; being all aspects at each stage of that evolution – we also encompass Her consciousness. Our consciousness is Gaia's consciousness: our evolvement is Gaia's evolvement.

Certainly there are many issues to resolve with the existence of the human species; yet, would it be wise to destroy that aspect – or even let us destroy ourselves? If the Earth were to choose to destroy us, would She really be making the best decision?

Destroying us may well mean the destruction of far more than the consciousness achieved – it could well include many levels of the subconscious/conscious state that reside in a large portion of the animal kingdom, for our destruction may well cost their survival. Would it not be suicide on Gaia's part? And as we know, as conscious beings (as She is conscious), suicide does not eradicate problems; it only postpones them. Our lessons are Her lessons, and She must resolve them – now or later.

By perceiving this World View, my perspective has changed dramatically as I find that I blame far less and observe far more. We may well destroy ourselves – but, we are part of Nature and truly do act from that. Gaia only grows as we grow – we only grow as Gaia grows and we are totally tied into all life on this planet. We are this planet. We are Gaia. Until we profoundly understand and accept that – we will not move forward and may quite likely destroy ourselves.
