Creating
Celestial Earth More than twenty years ago, I journaled about feeling alone. Do you know the feeling? Searching for something hidden from me, I had a deep soul yearning for a home and a family that did not fit my reality in that space and time. Destiny was to change my life and bring me to the home and family I had searched for; a community of people dedicated to their connection to the Earth, their connection to their spiritual essence, and their connection to creating Heaven on Earth. Something that has been sadly missing from our modern world is a sense of community. In ancient times rituals and ceremony marked passages in the seasons of our lives. The elders in the tribe, men and women, earned a place of teaching and guiding the younger ones to follow. The children belonged to everyone and were the responsibility of all. People were connected to spirit and to each other. In moving to Atlanta, I began finding the family and community that I dreamed of. With my return here, I met Anyaa McAndrew and Lisa Michaels, who have been key in bringing the priestess/ priest process to groups across the country. They are the first of a group of priestesses and later, high priestesses, to emerge in Atlanta. Along with their teacher, Nicole Christine, author of Temple of the Living Earth, and the We are Celestial Earth newsletter, they are helping make ancient mystery school teachings alive and accessible to whomever desires to remember and integrate them into their lives. Lisa told me, The priestess/priest archetype is simply bringing forth that part of ourselves that holds all life as sacred, and really learns to work with your life force in a way that brings forth the sacred in everything. It does't matter if you're Christian or Jewish, Pagan or Wiccan, green, black or purple. The important thing for people to know is what it does in your life. What effect it has on Atlanta, in the community. The connections and how we feel toward one another. The sacred emerges in all of our lives. We are not in temples anymore so we need to bring the honoring of sacredness into everyday life. We're literally building a temple without walls as our community. As a collective, from Washington, D.C., to Sedona and Los Angeles, there are new moon gatherings, full moon drumming circles, solstice, equinox and Yule celebrations. Women and men come together to honor the Earth, in sacred space. We use dance as movement prayer or to get in touch with whatever deeply needs to unfold within us or without. We drum, laugh and sing, and eat; especially chocolate. We are a community who have made a commitment to hold space for spirit to work divinely in each life, and that each life we encounter is allowed to awaken and remember their divinity. There is much love and joy, as we deeply support each other, even thousands of miles apart. I have seen lives transform, starting with myself. I have seen how with two or more coming together with intention, the seemingly impossible can happen. A mother and daughter have healed years of misunderstanding and fears. A priestess sister walks to support a cure for breast cancer. Men have opened up to healing the grief of the effects of patriarchy. We all come together in a trusting, safe place, to relate to one another as the radiant spirit beings that we are. As brothers and sisters, we learn to see the divine in each other. Some of us are learning to facilitate and teach what we have learned. Women, who lived as wives and mothers, find that they can also be writers, artists, healers and leaders; thus achieving a sense of self-worth and confidence they may never have discovered. The Divine Feminine classes and conscious creation with the elements are just the beginning of the teachings available. Women and men from early twenties to great grandmothers are coming together to share wisdom and life experience. A priestess in Florida has created an email network, to update us on the latest in women's spiritual issues and workshops. We have brought investigative mythologist, William Henry to Atlanta, to share his research in ancient history, Egyptology and healing our mystic anatomy. I have never felt the bond with other women, until now. I was able to tell the truth, be who I am, knowing that I am loved, accepted and important in the world. Realizing that we are participating in the spiritual evolution of our planet is no small thing. What we do now as a whole, affects the generations to come. My dream is for girls and boys to grow, knowing they are safe, loved divine beings, who belong to a nurturing community with a future. Lisa reminded me, We are creating the Celestial Earth Community, and that is a group of people who come together to live with Heaven on Earth. Katherine
