Peace,
Hope, Confusion at Year's End
By
Sare Van Orsdell
All memories of 2003 fade into history as the Winter Solstice
sun enters Capricorn at 2:04 a.m. EST on December 22. This
has been a year which has run the gauntlet of every
emotion
possible for all you sun signs! A full moon December 8 at
16 Gemini opens communication channels while the full moon
December 23 entering Capricorn squarely puts the finger on
a better understanding of U.S. leadership. Uranus, planet
of upsets, left the protection of a benign Neptune 'Hope
for Humanity' in Aquarius and jumped into faith-filled
but often illusionary and deceptive Pisces March 10 where
a similar transit took place starting in 1919. As Uranus entered
Pisces, it was joined by Mars June 17. The two planets became
fellow travelers until Uranus returned to Aquarius Sept. 15.
During their time together, certainly a war aspect as well
as a test of faith for the American people, the world became
a crazy place. In our personal lives, unusual and often fatal
events stunned us daily from the front pages of our newspapers.
Who could we trust? What could we believe? Our emotions extended
from general condition of the world into daily lives and sometimes,
one's best friend or steady-as-a-rock boss began to behave
in a most puzzling way. Then Mars went retrograde July 28
and uncertain and queasy feelings shifted deeper, sensitive
'listening' to our own inner guidance had to be reached.
At year's end, we arrive at a place of peace and/or one
of uncertainity and confusion. Watch for more unbelievable
events first timers in the history of humanity that
promise to come in 2004.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22 Dec.
22)
Confusion and change simmer down on the home front as Mars
moves out of Pisces Dec. 16. You'll sleep better. Emotional
stress about family and home decrease. Mars goes into Aries
and, hey guys, you can count on a little fun and romance during
the holidays! Pluto continues to work you over financially
and emotionally especially if you were born Dec. 10 through
the 13th. Jupiter continues to favor career as Saturn brings
old debts to surface. Venus sends money perqs sometime before
the 20th. Travel with or to friends during holidays is promised
but Uranus and Neptune plan surprises with weather and scheduling.
Watch for Mercury turning retrograde Dec. 16 and keep your
check book up to date.
Capricorn (Dec. 22 Jan.
21)
Venus in your sun sign until the 22nd is truly a romantic
adventure for Caps! It's your time in the sun as the Winter
Solstice begins Dec. 22. Capricorns love the long darkness
of winter. You put practical plans to work and roll up your
sleeves in anticipation of filling all those evening hours
with enjoyable tasks. Communication problems resolve as Mars
moves out of Pisces and into your home area possibly causing
plumbing or water problems. Expect monetary ups and downs
until the end of the year. Jupiter brings a restlessness for
know-ledge. Partnership problems reach a compromise during
the holidays. Catch up on paper work before Mercury goes
retrograde on the 22nd.
Aquarius (Jan. 21 Feb. 19)
Neptune's creative and spiritual power beam into your
sun sign. Daring and unique ideas that have been popping up
again since Sept. 15 when Uranus re-entered your sun sign
with one last exciting challenge before Dec. 31. Pluto’s
sextile offers opportunities for a certain greatness of spirit
if handled well. Mars exits your house of money, leaving a
legacy of confusion since June 17. It enters Aries on the
16th, watch what you say and keep anger turned low. Mercury
retrograde on the 16th favors meditations and inner work.
Spirit visitors may wake you with messages with Venus in the
subconscious area.
Pisces (Feb. 19 Mar. 20)
A time of action and often anger for you since June 17. Extra
Mars energy could have had you on the run! As Mars goes into
Aries Dec. 16, there is a change in your money making skills,
new talents. New friends, pleasant times with old ones with
Venus pushing you forward. Some may help you attain hard to
reach goals. What a time for creative work, meeting new people
and seeing your life gain deeper meaning! Mercury retrograde
Dec. 16 can bring retrospection about the meaning of your
life. Saturn may slow down some of the holiday fun with added
responsibilities but it has been known to bring back an old
flame.
Aries (Mar. 20 Apr. 20)
Health issues have been in the foreground for a while, Aries.
Watch diet and exercise during the holidays! A sobering look
at the home shows needed repairs which you have ignored. Get
to work! Pluto still directs you toward new philosophical
answers and with Venus, the Sun and Mercury lining up in your
career house, positive changes are on the way there. Past
work could bring a paycheck. Mercury turning retrograde on
the 16, suggests caution in career decisions. Mars has been
pushing for action based on new ideas about life's meaning
since mid June.
Taurus (Apr. 20 May 21)
With the north node in your sun sign, Taurus, you can just
about have anything you want! Especially for Taurians born
around the 10th, 11th, and 12th of May. Such a nice contact
to Sun, Venus and Mercury in another earth sign, Capricorn
brings accomplishments and public notice. Jupiter in another
earth sign, Virgo, in the area of fun, creativity and
adventure
increases odds for happy holidays. Enjoyment of children and/or
a special person is on the agenda. Mars will move out of friendship
areas Dec. 16 relieving tension. As it enters Aries, your
search for meaning will become overt. Mercury retrogrades
Dec. 16. Shop early!
Gemini (May 21 June 21)
Saturn brought money worries since June, but with an opportunity
aspect from Jupiter, profitable work at home or business and
travel beckon. Pluto continues changing your relationship
outlook and with the Sun, Venus and Mercury favoring joint
finances, monetary benefits pay off. Mars moves into Aries
Dec. 16 relieving career tensions, bringing opportunities
for self employment. As Uranus makes one last stand, closing
a seven year period, you now understand how to override chaos
or you have become so used to it that you crave more. Look
for big life changes as it goes into your professional area
Dec. 31. Mercury goes retrograde Dec. 16.
Cancer (Jun. 21 Jul. 23)
Saturn will be your constant companion until July 2005, so
learn to love it! Three rules: 1. get organized; 2.
take responsibility; 3. learn emotional control. December
is a great month to do all of these things. With Venus, Sun
and Mercury all in your partnership area, you will have to
take the impersonal approach to relationships. People will
expect you to hold your own! Mars moving out of Pisces Dec.
16 will start new activity in your professional or public
area of life. You will find that taking control often has
great benefits and is like a shot in the arm. The holidays
will be a good time for you as you see yourself grow stronger
in many ways.
Leo (Jul. 23 Aug. 23)
As you deal with Saturn in your house of spirit, you find
yourself harking back to old memories and times past. Don’t
get too melancholy, Leo. With Neptune in the area of others
since 1998, you've had many chances to open the heart
and reach out and you have! Assisted by Pluto, you
find yourself reviewing life with a fresh look during this
holiday season. With Neptune in your relationship area, you
realize we are all the same beneath our separate skins. Mars
into Aries Dec. 16 puts much energy into new studies, with
some Leos going back to school. Jupiter brings good income
opportunities and promise of bonuses.
Virgo (Aug. 23 Sept. 13)
Virgo will be doing some great traveling during the holidays
and with the Sun, Venus and Mercury bringing invitations for
a good time, don't hold back. A new romance could begin
or an old relationship become more attractive. Some kind of
honors may be bestowed on the Virgo during the second or third
week of December. The irritations of Mars in your relationship
area since June 17, will let up but don't let yourself
get dragged into joint money arguments after the 16th. Don't
make any new plans after Dec. 16 when Mercury begins to retrograde.
Libra (Sept. 23 Oct. 23)
Responsibilities at work will be heavy during the holidays
but you will have an opportunity to escape from time to time
into the warmth of home, friends and family. Looks like presents
for
the home will cheer you up and some Libras will find themselves
proud new parents. Make new friends with different cultural
backgrounds and be a part of an interesting and colorful holiday.
Do some kind of service work this year. Even during the busy
times for you, go dish out soup at meals for the homeless
or take gifts or just yourself to shut-ins.
Scorpio (Oct. 23 Nov. 23)
December marks the close of a pretty chaotic year, Scorpio.
Big changes in the family scene and at home have occurred.
Write yourself a new script for having fun and making new
friendships. The holidays are a perfect starting point. Accept
all invitations, invite people into your home. A need to express
yourself and your life in words brings writing to the surface.
The big change in skills will continue as you come up with
unusual and creative ways to make money. As Mars goes into
Aries Dec. 16, stress with children will lessen.
As 2003 comes to a close, here are words to ponder in the
brand new year:
Do you think this is by accident? The Laws are very
simple. 1. Thought is creative 2. Fear attracts
like energy 3. Love is all there is.

Happy holidays, Sun Signs!
