For Enya fans, the Taliesin Orchestra has released Thread of Time: the Best of the Music of Enya. Featuring vocalist Felicia Sorensen, The Taliesin Orchestra presents some of Enya's most popular songs with a new interpretation and full orchestration. Taliesin debuted on Orinoco Flow: the Music of Enya; and have also recorded 1997's Forbidden Forest; The Music of George Winston; Anthem, an homage to rock legends; and 1998';s Maidens of Mystery. The group is named for the renowned 11th century Celtic bard, Taliesin. It is known for bridging between New Age and classical music. Tracks include: “The Council of Elrond with Aniron,” “Orinoco Flow,” “Only If,” “Storms in Africa,” “The Memory of Trees,” “Anywhere,” and “Only Time,” among others. - KS

If you are a fan of the late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, the master of Qawwali music, you will be pleased to know that his nephews are following in his musical footsteps. Rizwan-Muazzam is made up of these two brothers and five secondary singers, who present A Better Destiny, with all of the impassioned, trance-like music you'd expect of Qawwali devotional music. Rhythmic hand clapping, tabla drumming, a merry harmonium, and these joyful songs of romantic love and alcoholic intoxication (metaphors for spiritual heights) are all intended to bring enlightenment. This music is fast, energetic, empowered, and wild, maybe, to Western ears. It will lift your spirits! - KS
