Venerable Gen-la Samden Gyatso is the Deputy Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition. This meditation master and renowned teacher holds the entire lineage of the Buddhist path. He will be giving a series of talks on developing love and compassion, starting with a free introductory talk at Rameshori Buddhist Center on Friday, December 6, at 7:30 p.m. This very special weekend course will offer everyone, regardless of religious or spiritual background, the precious opportunity to develop and enhance the powerful and blissful mind of love and compassion. During his visit, Gen-la Samden Gyatso will be stressing practical methods for developing love and compassion to resolve our daily problems. This weekend will also include discussion and guided meditations with Atlanta's resident teacher, Gen Kelsang Mondrub. Through sincerely engaging in the teachings and meditations presented, we will improve our ability to love others, relate with greater honesty and acceptance, and learn how to keep a good heart throughout our lives. We will learn how to transform conflicts with skill and integrity. With such an open and courageous heart, it will be easy for us to solve our problems. In addition to instruction and meditation, there will be time to meet and talk with Gen-la Samden, Gen Kelsang Mondrub, other visiting teachers, and many students and visitors from Southeastern centers. Gen-la Samden Gyatso is a well-respected, living example of a pure Buddhist practitioner whose actions are not separate from his words. Born in the United Kingdom, he has been studying, practicing, and teaching for 25 years. He is the first ordained Buddhist monk of the New Kadampa Tradition, as well as Heart Disciple and successor of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, Spiritual Director of this tradition. Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso is a world-renowned Buddhist spiritual teacher, meditation master, and great scholar. Furthermore, he is the best-selling author of nineteen books that are the complete representation of all Buddha's teachings written for our times in our language. Venerable Geshe Kelsang's spiritual guide is His Holiness Trijang Rinpoche, one of the greatest Buddhist Teachers in recent history and the Spiritual Guide of the highest Tibetan Lamas, including the present Dalai Lama.
