Pranic
Healing
By

Pranic
Healing, the new kid on the block
in Atlanta, is a system of techniques
for healing with energy. Its name
comes from the Sanskrit 'prana,'
translated often as 'breath'
or more broadly as 'life force.'
Although the system has been taught
throughout the world, August 24-25
will be the first formal class offered
in Atlanta. A
team of experienced Pranic Healers
and teachers from Florida and New
York visited Atlanta in June to
introduce the idea. Lecture attendees
included experienced healers from
other modalities as well as novices
to energy work. The lecture mirrored
what seems to be the general pattern
for all Pranic Healing courses:
hear, see, and do - strongly experiential.
When it came time for an actual
demonstration of Pranic Healing,
I got to be the guinea pig. Based
on the assumption that the body
is designed to heal itself, Pranic
Healing clears and cleanses old,
distorted energy in the body's
electromagnetic field so that healing
energy, or 'prana,' can
help the body revitalize. A second
assumption is that changes in human
well-being happen first in the electromagnetic
field, or aura, of the body and
then manifest in the physical. Physically,
the Pranic Healer works a few inches
off the body, sweeping and plucking
the old energy away and shaking
it into salty water for recycling.
Then the way is clear for new energy
to be directed, through the palm
of the healer's hand, into the
aura and the body. The client sits
comfortably or may lie down, fully
clothed. Most people find a session
very relaxing. Some people, especially
other energetic healers, may feel
the The
lecture/demonstration ended with
Master Choa Kok Sui's 'Meditation
On Twin Hearts,' which reminds
us that our own healing is enhanced
when we share that healing with
Mother Earth and her other inhabitants.
This meditation is designed to cleanse
and energize the meditator and also
to raise the spiritual consciousness
of the earth. Certified
Pranic Healing Instructor Lorraine
Graves, from Pensacola, found herself
especially drawn by the 'accelerated
spiritual progress' available
through Pranic Healing. She said
that as a meditator of some twenty
years, she knew she'd made spiritual
advancement. As she measured her
previous twenty years of meditation
results, one year of this new method
of meditation seemed like two thousand. Energy article continued next page, click here! |
