October 2014 Astrology
In the month of October, the planets form favorable aspects for dreaming up a bigger, better life — a new one, which is more in alignment with your true self. The first few days of October are a great time for dreaming, visualizing, and pulling a new aspect of your life into form. The energies focus on new endeavors and plans.
The fire trine between Mars, Jupiter, and Uranus exerts a mighty force, which can be utilized for manifestation — or fiery emotion. The choice is yours.
Jupiter will square Saturn, which restricts the passionate energy of the fire trine. It asks us to look deep within ourselves and review plans before moving forward. The square is in fixed signs so we may encounter stubbornness and resistance within the self and the people encountered in life. Venus in Virgo can place pressure on relationships by exaggerating our critical nature. On the plus side, it helps with finding structure in art. Pluto in Capricorn turned direct on September 23, and we’ll feel its influence as the clearing of subconscious wounds and emotions, along with an emphasis on finances.
Mercury will retrograde on October 4, moving from Scorpio backward into Libra — and remains retrograde until October 26. Libra tends to focus on beauty, harmony, and spirituality, but Mercury indirect helps us see issues needing alteration. When we pull back from the material world — and rest — other aspects of life become apparent. (It’s good to follow the standard advice of finishing projects but not starting new ones, waiting to sign paperwork and purchasing electronics.) There’s a lunar eclipse on October 8, followed by a solar eclipse on October 23. Eclipses can act as a “reset” button. When the light returns, it illuminates the fabric of our heart, thoughts, and feelings.
