 Opportunities for communication and learning will be amplified with Mercury in Gemini 5/2 thru 7/11. SATURN TURNS DIRECT on 5/2, giving new forward momentum to business ventures and other accomplishments. You can use the 5/5 NEW MOON at 15° Taurus for new beginnings in finance, material security, sensuality and immersion into nature. There’s a four-month JUPITER RETROGRADE starting 5/9, shifting some energy from “work your plan” to “plan your work.” May’s FULL MOON is on 5/19, 10:11 p.m. at 29°26’ Scorpio. As always with Full Moons, contemplate how “full-filled” you are -- in this case, with your shared resources. The Sun enters Gemini on 5/20, bathing Earth with the energy of curiosity, communication and eclecticism thru June 20. There’s also a Mars-Venus-Pluto GOLDEN YOD active 5/18-22, inspiring creative expression and relationships. May’s most powerful astrological event comes exact 5/21: a JUPITER-URANUS SEXTILE, strong mid-February thru late June. During this time, Uranus strives to revolutionize religion, spirituality, philosophy, politics, foreign affairs, long-distance travel and higher education. Venus follows the Sun into Gemini 5/24 thru 6/18, a great time to cultivate a variety of mentally stimulating relationships. We experience an extraordinary THREE PLANETARY RETROGRADES WITHIN 18 HOURS starting 5/25, which encourage reflection over action, and can slow down whatever you are doing. CHIRON RETROGRADES for five months starting on 5/25, a good time to reflect on childhood wounds, engage in mentoring, and work on becoming a spiritual “rainbow bridge.” On 5/26, Mercury and Neptune shift into reverse just 27 minutes apart! MERCURY RETROGRADE (thru 6/19) is, of course, infamous for throwing a monkey wrench into communications, technology and travel. On the upside, it’s a wonderful time for introspective reflection and finishing up old projects. NEPTUNE RETROGRADE lasts much longer -- over five months – but will be much less noticeable for most. All three of these newly retrograde planets are in intellectual air signs, so have the courage to weed out those fixed ideas and concepts which have outlived their usefulness. The notorious Venus square Saturn transit challenges relationships on 5/26, but the Venus-Uranus quintile on 5/28 could provide the flash of insight you need to make that relationship better. It can also provide creative types with the “Eureka!” moment they need to inspire their next masterpiece.
HOROSCOPES Aquarius (Jan 20 - Feb 18)
Creativity and relationships (especially those at home) get a boost around the 1st. That months-long sense of energetic restriction also releases around then, allowing you to finally build a good head of steam with your projects. Mark the 10th as a power day for relationships, the 12th for vitality, and the 18th for harmony. Been getting more than your share of relationship challenges? Don’t worry, they should ease up significantly by mid-June. There’s a strong focus on learning and communication through the 20th, after which there’s more focus on domestic matters. Pisceans enjoy spending time in their inner worlds, and you’ll feel especially drawn there 5/9 through 9/8. (This turn within will grow even stronger around 5/26.) You’re now mostly through a powerful period of revolution and paradigm shift, which started mid-February and ends in late June. The days around the 20th could challenge you with illusion and deception or fill you with divine union and creative inspiration, depending on the strength of your own divine connection. Any significant challenges you face around the 26th have come to help you develop newfound strength within yourself. May is heavily front-loaded for you, Gemini! Challenges at home (and within your own psyche) are likely to peak early in the month, then slowly decrease in intensity through mid-June. The days around the 2nd are best for making a strong public impression. Be prepared for a major challenge on the 3rd, followed by divine flashes of wisdom (the solution to the prior day’s dilemma?) on the 4th. Making a splash is supported again around the 21st and 25th. Powerful relationship transformation has been a major theme since November, and will continue through March 2009. Nurture relationships that catalyze your transformation, while releasing those that slow your evolution from “caterpillar” into “butterfly”. Watch for a significant challenge to your self-esteem around the 10th: can you embody at least the amount of power with which you’re being confronted? The first two-thirds of May are more gregarious, while the rest is well-suited for private withdrawal into spiritual and creative pursuits. You’ll have lots of energy available for work and accomplishment thru the 20th, after which you might consider focusing more on groups and social activities. A compulsion toward psychotherapy or transformation in your domestic environment will be especially strong for the next couple of months specifically, and generally through early Spring 2009. In fact, activities such as psychotherapy, research and occult practice are especially supported through 5/20 or so, after which the focus shifts more to travel, higher education and general adventurousness! Business opportunities are strong around the 1st, while unexpected good fortune could pop up around the 18th. Use that strong urge to escape around the 20th for spiritual or creative immersion, rather than drug- or alcohol-induced oblivion. Finally, be prepared for a significant challenge around the 26th. Be attentive to relationships of all kinds in very early May, when there’s strong opportunity for powerful, positive transformation. Relationships have magical possibilities around the 19th, but may require adjustment around the 25th. The days around the 9th are powerful for business. Overall, allow yourself to be a little more reflective and internally focused 5/9 through 9/8. At the same time, May is a very strong month for business and making money!
