Birthing
The New Earth
By
Jeanne Johnson
I am led to the edge of a large body of water, a still quiet place.
The moon is full and the sounds of the earth grow still. I walk into
the water and then dive beneath, swimming deeper and deeper until I
am in another place. IT is warm and dark and liquid and filled with
love. Knowing grows within. I am in my own womb. I am beginning to grow
myself anew. The darkness
becomes a universe with stars and moons all around. I am within
the universe of potential. I am now woman in deep blue velvet standing
against the darkness of the night, pregnant with my new self, pregnant
with the new earth. I am one woman; I am all women; and I carry the
promise of the future. Contractions begin. They are strong and firm
in purpose and intent. The New Earth is coming.
We cannot stop the birth. She is coming. We can make it easier by actively
participating in bringing her forth or we can resist and cause ourselves
more pain than is necessary. It is time to gather in community for the
purpose of supporting and helping each other through the process. There
is nothing to fear. Birth is a natural event. Compassionate care for
one another and for the world is necessary. When surprised by large
and strong energetic contractions, it is normal to occasionally slide
into fear and to have uncertainty about our ability to continue with
the birth. Each of us is both birthing mother and birthing coach. We
will develop ways and teach each other how to best relax into the contractions
instead of fighting against them. There are ways to breathe that aid
the process. We must learn what and how to breathe.
It is not just air that we must breathe. It is Love that we must breathe.
Love is not simply a collection of emotions surrounding a person, creature,
place or thing. Love is a spiritual element that is always present.
Love is as present as the air that we breathe. It is present at all
times and in all places. We have only to turn our attention to it and
begin learning how to harness the power of Love so that we can use it
with conscious intent to apply its force to individual and world difficulties.
Each of us are transitioning at a rapid pace, whether we are aware of
it and want to or not. Fear creates painful contraction. Love creates
mindful expansion.
