Inviting Abundance Into Your Living

By Ellen Peterson

You are cordially invited to live a life of abundance. No money down! Only serious inquiries need apply. Invest today in this opportunity of a lifetime.

If you saw this ad in a local newspaper, would you respond? Abundance is a word that draws immediate attention as it offers the promise of an improved life. But what does abundance really mean?

Abundance is often defined in terms of money and finances. It is a societal belief that financial resources create a lifestyle of ease and comfort. Abundance is associated with wealth, and wealth affords experiences that enrich your life. If you have enough money, you also have the means to easily meet your needs and satisfy your desires. Financial abundance enables you to have and to experience things that bring joy into your life. Thus, the definition of abundance begins to broaden. Abundance is more than money; it is joyful living.

Abundance can also be defined in relationship to time. Time is a valuable commodity in a society that perceives time as limited. Most people complain that there is not “enough time” despite the fact that time is constant; time consists of 24 hours in a day and seven days in a week. Although the actuality of time never changes, a person’s perception of time can change. Time may be perceived as going “too fast” or “too slow” in relation to one’s experience. Perhaps, abundance, like time, is a constant that only changes by perception. That is, abundance always exists. You may simply fail to recognize abundance in your daily life.

Abundance is a plentiful supply of all that you need to experience and enjoy life fully. You have plenty of time, plenty of resources, and plenty of opportunities. Abundance travels alongside pleasure. Pleasure is a wonderful companion to abundance. Abundance brings pleasure and pleasure brings abundance. Together they co-create magic in your daily living. It changes your approach to life. You begin to view life differently and life in turn becomes different. Life experiences become positive and add a new dimension to living. Living is exuberant. It is more than living. It is abundant living. It is living at the maximum rather than at the minimum. An abundant life invites greater flow and ease into your daily affairs. Life experiences, which may be as simple as picking up groceries, become an easier and more rewarding task. A shift in attitude creates a shift in experience. Abundance is an attitude; it is an attitude of living life with joy and anticipation. Simple daily chores hold the potential for extraordinary experiences.

Abundance is a life of ease rather than struggle. It is the awareness that everything you touch turns to gold. Whether you struggle physically (illness), emotionally (worry) or financially (money), the attitude of abundance moves your experience in a new direction. Challenges are merely lessons to be learned. Although your current circumstances are genuine, you have the option to perceive and experience them differently. Unfortunately, most people choose the road of lack, (“not enough”), which is the default setting. When confronted with a challenging circumstance, many people will throw their arms up in despair. The road of lack is long and arduous. It is paved with infinite feelings of fear and unworthiness. The alternate route is the road of abundance. It is slightly out of the way and therefore requires some effort to reach. However, this road is paved with positive thoughts and powerful feelings of worthiness and trust. It is posted with signs that focus your attention on the goodness in your life (blessings).

Abundance is an attitude that invites infinite possibilities of good into your life. You expect only the best outcome. A simple interaction with a stranger has the potential for touching your heart in a profound way. Similarly, your abundance in living allows you to share your light with others. It is time to awaken and see, touch and experience the overt signs of good in your life. There are many, but you must open your eyes and recognize them. Your life is exuding abundance. Look around and acknowledge the good that already exists in your life. And then, expand. Look around you. What do you see? More importantly, what are you willing to see? Invite joy, laughter and ease into your life. Trust that your needs will be met. Life is full and abundant!
