Growth Through Letting Go

.....In, The Universe Is Calling , Dr. Eric Butterworth writes; “The activity of God is always seeking to heal you, to bless you, to fill all your vessels with good. When you get yourself out of the way, the divine flow does its perfect work.” All that is, is an expression of God, as such every moment and individual is Divine. Therefore, all of life, and every moment of life is sacred. If we were to be honest with ourselves, we would admit our human nature gets caught up in the effects of life. Therefore, we do not always treasure each moment and each person as the Divinity they are. What a tremendous gift of God we allow ourselves to experience when we honor the sacred beingness of others, or revel in the divinity of just a singular moment. We experience this gift of the Divine by honoring the individual or moment without judgment, prejudice or assumptions, by just letting go of our preconceived ideas, letting go of ourselves, and letting God come forward to express whatever It needs to express in that instant.
.....When we let go and let God, we allow for the ultimate expression of the Divine to come forward in our lives. And for a sacred moment, there is not us and God. There is only God as us. In reality, all there ever really is, is God as us. Yet, it is human nature to put ourselves and our ego to the forefront of our existence. So occasionally, one may miss the opportunity to know we are always living in the sacred since all that is, is the sacredness of God as us and as others. Three years ago, I lost my Mother to cancer. It was a unique experience to assist her while she went through the process of letting go of this life. I watched in wonder as she took control of her transition process, even to the point of letting me know when it was time for her to move on to the next level of existence. It was a very sacred time for her and for me. In the last few weeks of her physical life we transcended the usual mother and son relationship. I was not there to seek final words of wisdom or even as much as I wanted to, beg her to stay. I was there to solely, let go and let God. To let go of what needed to be said and done, and to allow for the best expression of God to come forward as me in every sacred instant of that process. And I was there to witness an expression of the energy of God transitioning to a new level of existence as her. My mother peacefully made her transition one evening and after tending to the details of the transition process and my family, I was able to tend to myself. That night was filled with a holiness and peace I often experience in meditation. Mother was a well-known spiritual advisor in the Atlanta area. Many of her friends and clients wanted to be called the instant her transition took place. Some wondered why they did not receive a phone call that night. A few even acted to be hurt or perturbed they received a call the next day. I could answer them by saying I was over come with grief or I wanted to be sure the family was taken care of before I called anyone else. Truthfully, in the hours following mother's transition, there was a deep sense of the sacredness of the experience. I was not there to be a son, a brother, a messenger, or even a minister. I was there to release my preconceived ideas of what that process should have been and allow it to come forward as the best possible expression of God. Letting go and letting God, in order to be in the Divine flow of energy in that sacred moment. And letting God come forward in the strength, the words, and the love I would need that night. In the few hours following mother's transition, I released all I was in that instant, and allowed all that God is, to come forward so I could tend to the transition process, my family, and myself. Many understood this, allowing them to share in the sacredness of the moment. And many did not, caught in their own egos, unfortunately experiencing only the physical effect of the process. When we release our egos and some will say “our should's”, we allow ourselves to experience the sacredness of each moment and every individual in our lives. Allowing for the highest expression of God in that singular instant and individual. To release our ego is to embrace our divinity. It is in that sacred embrace we experience God operating as us and recognize the beauty of God operating through others. Let go and let God in all that you do and experience the sacredness of every moment, of every individual and most importantly the sacredness of you.
