She Has Known "The Secret”
for Decades

Barbara Marx Hubbard had an encounter with God and shifted from being a frustrated housewife, to BEING the Universe in person. At the time she found her soul’s vocation, Barbara was a mother of 5; her youngest was about four years old. This defining point was triggered by the pain of something that wasn’t being expressed in her life, combined with reading the works of evolutionary teachers of the highest order…such as Teilhard de Chardin and Sri Aurobindo. She describes what happened during this first “conversion experience” as an evolutionary shift from a life focused on the procreation of babies to being focused on the conscious co-creation of a world.

The words of these evolutionary teachers helped Barbara bridge the gap. As she reflected, “I needed those ideas, that language to awaken my soul’s purpose. I realized that God IS manifested in evolution, and is now rising in us as our own capacity to evolve consciously. What I am doing now is putting together a new synthesis to unlock the evolutionary potential of humanity.”

Barbara Marx Hubbard began fulfilling her role as a visionary social futurist and evolutionary philosopher decades before Chopra invited us to discover that we are both are the dancer and the dance, the creator and the creation. Indeed, almost 40 years before today’s leaders moved to openly introduce spiritual principles into our political discourse, Buckminster Fuller, one of the greatest minds of the 20th century and Barbara’s champion said, “Somebody has to bring the positive options for our future into the political arena, and I think it should be a woman, and I think it should be you.”

Barbara pondered this possibility for more than a decade and then accepted the nomination for the Vice Presidency in Geraldine Ferraro’s 1984 presidential campaign.

The new thesis that Barbara is developing lays out how we all can play a part to “optimize the evolutionary potential of our species.” Based on a synthesis of our spiritual, social, and scientific capacity along with guidelines for self- and social- evolution, Barbara’s thesis is being laid out in a seven-part documentary series entitled “Humanity Ascending: A New Way Through Together.” These guidelines tap into what acclaimed environmentalist, journalist, and author, Paul Hawken calls the “greatest mass movement in the history of humanity.”

As Barbara notes, “Luther pinned his thesis to the wall of the church and started the reformation. This evolutionary thesis is not to be pinned on the wall of the church, but to be communicated through all media to as many people as possible. It is ‘pinned on the wall’ of the current worldview that sees our crises as overwhelming, our solutions as inadequate, and our nature as unchanging.”

Barbara, who is widely regarded as the philosophical heir to Buckminster Fuller, is recording all of her perspectives on human evolution onto video as a coherent, whole story so that it is available during this critical time of transition. She sees this thesis as her legacy project in which she offers the vital elements to awaken the code for our conscious evolution and offers direction, meaning, and vision toward our birth as a new humanity.

For those who have experienced such disheartening distractions as the ego’s siren call, and would love to know how to let the heart lead the way and how to more clearly hear the Voice for our own soul’s vocation, Barbara offered this wisdom, “…(it) feels like I am being led by an evolutionary impulse of creation that springs from the divine creative intention of the universe itself. This intention could be called the Will of God or the implicate order of evolution. (We)…experience it as our own passion to be more, do more, know more, create more, evolve more, it is felt through the heart as a loving desire to give your gift into the world. This loving desire is comparable to the love a mother has for a newborn child...or a mystic’s love of God. Once you experience it as your own calling, your own soul’s code, you get turned on by a life force that is irresistibly attractive to you…and because you are SO attracted, you become (irresistibly) attractive to others. And then you start attracting others to co-create with you.”
